Prime Minister of China, Wen Jiabao, emphasized his country still imports oil from Iran. This attitude is the opposite of the United States and some Western countriesand Japan, the embargo on oil supplies from Iran after appearing sanctions from Washington.

According to the Reuters news agency, Wen made the statement during a visit tothree countries to end the Middle East, January 19, 2011. During Wen's six-day visit to the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar - which is also a majorsupplier of oil from the Middle East.

Wen said that China, like the Western countries, basically helped oppose Iranian efforts to build nuclear weapons technology. That which has been the basis forWestern countries - and also the UN Security Council - in economic and tradesanctions on Iran.

In recent years this issue continues to drag on because Iran had insisted on the right to develop nuclear power. However, Iran dismissed concerns that nucleartechnology will be used as a weapon, but only to meet energy needs.

"China remained opposed to the development and possession of nuclear weaponsin Iran," Wen said in Doha, Qatar. However, China does not want to come along withapplying an embargo on oil supplies from Iran.

"I also want to emphasize that China's oil trade with Iran continues normally," saidWen, when asked by reporters about Beijing's stance on the U.S. and Europe stepin to block oil exports and financial flows out of the country of Iran

"Trading remains valid should be protected, if not the world economic order will fallinto chaos," said Wen. Statement number three leader in China was published in the Chinese Foreign Ministry website.

China's economy in the last two decades is growing very rapidly. Consequently,China needs a lot of energy resources to meet domestic consumption andproduction.
